As tasks are planned, they should be moved to the scheduling queue. The choice to schedule them to a schedule period is made from the Period Capacity screen, where the status reason for a task is visible. You can wait to schedule tasks until the status reason is no longer Waiting on Materials.

Currently in the Planning Portal you could have many jobs that are Planned but not ready to be sent to Scheduling because of Waiting on Material or even on Hold for some other reason. Need to add (Status Reason) column so that Planner can manage the Planning que better.

We don't want to be able to schedule tasks that are waiting on materials until everything is on site and ready to go. This will keep us from accidently scheduling tasks that aren't ready for work.
I agree with this idea, it will help to block and tackle the unplanned backlog! As long as after that task has been planned, it doesn't become marked as "Ready" until the parts have arrived.
